My sensational mother at Steeplechase 2014. When I handed her one of the stick ponies I brought as props that year, she instantly knew just how to hold it and pose.

That was Clare.

This is she at 85 years old, mocking age in timeless style. I estimate it was her 65th Steeplechase, but it could’ve been 75 or even more. She lived here her whole life and always was there.

Happy Mother's Day, Mom. You were there yesterday in spirit.
