The deer that is probably in the most danger this time of year besides a doe is the three year old buck that's pictured. The fact being that some hunters are tired, weary and have logged many hours in the tree stand looking for that target buck to no avail. And friends and family members are roughing them up because they haven't had success so Mr. 3 yr old comes bouncing out and the voice in your head says take him. In an instant it's over. Guilt and regret floods in as you walk over and glance down but you immediately go on the defense in your head, my neighbor would have shot him, he's a cull buck, etc then thoughts of you posting him on social media (standing as far behind him in pics) and people praising your hunting ability pushes those thoughts all away. Let me say this for the thousandeth time. It is your tag, I could give a rats fat finger what you shoot. And I will never look down on anyone for what they take. But I get asked on a daily basis, what can I do to have bigger bucks on my property? And the most difficult and yet simple answer is this.. sometimes you have to eat tag soup. Good luck the rest of the season and remember to be safe!
