Thursday (8/27/26) I woke up at Galehead Hut to the crew softly strumming a guitar, singing “A Horse With No Name” by America; a song which would remain stuck in my head for the remainder of the day. After massive breakfast option of oatmeal, eggs, bacon, pancakes, juice and of course coffee, I made the quick 1/2 mile hike up to the summit of Galehead Mountain (4,026 feet).

From Galehead Mountain, back down to Galehead Hut to grab my pack, and start the hike up to South Twin Mountain (4,902 feet) Both images are taken on the trail up to South Twin, looking west towards Mount Lafayette (first image) and Mount Garfield (second image)

On Wednesday I hiked up the Gale River Trail (4.85 miles) to the AMC New Hampshire Galehead Hut and spent the night there. Gale River Trail was one of the nicest trails I’ve tramped; smooth and gradual through sugar maple, paper and yellow birch trees, along the North Branch of the Gale River.
The first photo is the view from Galehead Hut, looking south east into the vast Pemigewasset Wilderness.
Second photo is the gentle Gale River Trail.
The third image shows the view looking east from Galehead Hut towards South Twin Mountain, with the almost full (Waxing Gibbous) moon overhead.

From a roll of 35mm film I just got back from being developed. Love the look of this on film, it’s soft and slightly warm on its own. To me the photo truly feels like it did when I was standing there, a warm, July day.
Also, zero editing (which makes me happy)

45,000 acres of magical forests. In 1984 Congress officially designated the 45,000-acre Pemigewasset Wilderness under the New Hampshire Wilderness Act, providing the highest level of federal land protection. Right now we’re seeing this administration remove these protections so that corporations can begin extracting resources, and again, destroy our Public Lands.

From a roll of 35mm film I just got back from being developed. I absolutely love the look of this on film, it’s so soft and slightly warm, naturally. To me the photos truly feel like it did when I was standing there, a hot, summer, July day.
Also, zero editing (which makes me happy)

45,000 acres of magical forests. Throughout the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries this area was heavily ravaged by clear cutting and logging. In 1907 a massive wildfire caused by the logging locomotives and the dead trees debris, burned an estimated 10,610 acres of forest! After public outcry, in 1984 Congress officially designated the 45,000-acre Pemigewasset Wilderness under the New Hampshire Wilderness Act, providing the highest level of federal land protection. Right now we’re seeing this administration remove these protections so that corporations can begin extracting resources, and again, destroy our Public Lands.

This one took me forever from concept to finish. I struggle a ton with wanting things to be “perfect” or the way I envision it, but not being able to translate that vision into existence. This same thing happens when editing photos. I always enjoyed shooting weddings, but dreaded the editing process because of the sheer volume of images. I wonder how others deal with this?

Anyway, I’ll have these up for sale soon.
