Took about 12 hours of hiking time, cause I’m a heavy packer and a light sleeper : ) 14 miles total and about 5,000 feet of elevation gain. Solo hiking is the ultimate exercise in staying present, no distractions, just the trail and my thoughts. It’s interesting to watch the little voice in my mind try and make excuses for why I shouldn’t continue. Those excuses are always some future “what if”, but when I come back to the next step, the next bolder, I’m able to recognize these as just thoughts.
