Tsé Bitʼaʼí translated as “rock with wings” or “winged rock,” and commonly known as Shiprock. This sacred volcanic formation, estimated to be 20–30 million years old, is located on the Navajo (Diné) Nation.

Deeply significant to the Diné people, it holds an essential place in their mythology, creation stories, and history.

To preserve its cultural importance, the area is closed to visitors. From a respectful distance, using my zoom lens, I was able to capture its silhouette at sunset as a storm moved through, and days later capturing the last remains of that snowfall.

I am so grateful that I get the opportunity to photograph and learn about the history and culture of the places and people that I visit, and that I get to share these photos with others through my lens 📸

Autumn is my favorite season for so many reasons.

The fashion. The crispness in the air. The colors of the falling leaves🍁🍂The last golden push of light before the darkness consumes. The thinning of the veil✨

It’s also, by far, my favorite season to photograph📸

I recently photographed Mt. Rainier over two weekends, and the difference a single week made was striking, a vivid reminder of how quickly the season changes. Between those two visits, autumn deepened, and the mountain received its first dusting of snow❄️

After many side quests, distractions, miles, adventures, a bout of depression (who isn’t at this point), overthinking, obsessing and excuses, I am excited to share my prints page:

👉 beckybatchphotography.com/prints

I started this project under the Aries new moon🔥, hoping to ride that fiery momentum, but true to form, obsession took over, and I spiraled into the details. However, today is the Buck Full Moon in Capricorn, which feels more appropriate. Slower. More grounded. And, as it turns out, fittingly aligned with my 10th house of career and purpose✨

My obsessive spiraling had me changing printers, integrating back and forth between platforms, which created plug-in conflicts, code issues, and all kinds of “techy stuff” that had me frustrated beyond words and ready to give up but I kept plugging away and fixed the glitches😅

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way through your likes, comments, and print requests♥️ As a token of appreciation, I am offering 20% off all prints until the end of July with code F&F20

Most of these photos were captured on public lands and in National Parks, places that belong to ALL of us. Unfortunately, many of these natural spaces face ongoing challenges, including recent budget cuts and efforts to sell off our PUBLIC land by the current administration🤯

I believe that nature and the environment should be protected for everyone to enjoy, now and for future generations. That’s why I’m donating a portion of the proceeds to an organization dedicated to protecting America’s wild places through conservation, advocacy, and education.

*I’m starting simple: limited prints on Canvas, Metal, or Matte Paper. If you’re looking for a specific image, size, or custom option, feel free to reach out. More formats and limited editions are coming soon.
