Throwback Thursday to this very large and beautiful copperhead I found on a warm spring evening last year. It wanted to cross the fire break that had filled with water, and I was in its path. It didn't move a muscle until I moved out of its line of travel. Taken in southeastern North Carolina.

Once again, it's way up close Wednesday! I found this amazing looking copperhead in a sunny patch of wooded trails. The trail is fairly well used by people, most of whom would have not seen this snake before they were within striking range. I spotted it at approx. 5 feet away, which is perfect because it is also the minimum range I can get within for the lens I was using. Taken in southeastern North Carolina.

My apologies for being M.I.A. the past several days. I was home visiting family in Missouri. Back in North Carolina today and picking up where we left off with a beautiful copperhead that I found in early May, here in southeastern North Carolina. I hope will enjoy!

Throwback Thursday to this very well camouflaged copperhead I found several years ago. It was laying right along side a very heavily used foot path, and I had already seen two groups of people walk past it without even knowing! Taken in southeastern North Carolina.

Welcome back y'all. As I do every year, yesterday was off of social media for me so I could remember buddies that have passed and reflect solely on why the day is celebrated. I hope everyone got to spend it with family and enjoyed the holiday. This week we are back with the always beautiful copperhead! I have been finding quite a few of them this year, and that makes for a very happy photographer! Taken in southeastern North Carolina.
