Tomorrow is the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

To perpetuate the remembrance, remarks will be given at 9am tomorrow at city hall. All are welcome to attend and encouraged to arrive around 8:45.

Pictured is a piece of steel from the World Trade Center South Tower.

It was recovered in October 2001 and delivered to the Monroe Fire Department in recognition of the service of the emergency responders who protect the Monroe community.

It’s located towards the south side of the building.

Additionally, the courthouse bell will be rung at the times of the attacks.

Never forget.

Some of you have been asking already, and we're thrilled to announce we are now accepting entries for our 37th annual amateur photography contest!
Quick Details:
Entries due by SEPTEMBER 18TH, 2026
Adult and Junior (under age 18), categories
Amateur photographers only
Photos entered previously are not eligible
Entry fees per photo: $20 adult/$10 junior
Drop off entries at MAC during regular business hours with entry form and payment

NOTE: Exhibition space is limited. Monroe Arts Center reserves the right to limit number of entrants and/or photographs.
