I went to Namibia this past January for a creative adventure and fell in love with the beauty I found there. I will post a few sets of images- this is the beautiful Nanje Nowack. The colors and textures of the landscape, combined with the incredible light, and styling by Bella Kotak... It was magical.

I still remember introducing myself at a party and someone saying, "Oh! You're the photographer!" Until that moment, I'd thought of myself as a mom who took pictures. That one comment made me realize it was something more.
CanvasRebel sat down with me to talk about how Karissa Van Tassel Photography actually came to be — starting with a camera I bought to photograph my newborn while thousands of miles away from family, all the way to the studio I run today.
My favorite part of the conversation was talking about why I do this: I help people see beauty — in the world, in their stories, and in their own reflection. Almost every client walks into my studio with a list of insecurities somebody else handed them. My job is to help them see past that.
