One of the most common reactions I get when parents inquire about newborn photos is:

“Wait…up to 2 hours?”

The truth is, the extra time isn’t there because we’re taking photos nonstop. It’s there so nobody has to feel rushed.

Newborns need to eat. They need diaper changes. Sometimes they need a few extra minutes of snuggles before they’re ready to settle. And if there’s a proud big sibling involved, they might need a snack break, a chance to show me every toy they own, or a little time to warm up.

Rather than trying to squeeze your family into a strict timeline, I build flexibility into the experience from the start.

Most sessions don’t use the full two hours. But knowing the time is there allows everyone to relax, settle in, and be present.

Because the moments you’ll treasure most rarely happen when you’re racing the clock. They’re the quiet snuggles after a feeding, the way your toddler curls up next to the baby for a few seconds, and all the little in-between moments that make this season of life yours.

And those moments are always worth slowing down for.

Motherhood feels so long while you’re in it.

And then somehow, all at once, it feels impossibly short.

One day they’re learning to sit.

Then crawl.

Then walk.

Then suddenly, before you even blink, they’re running ahead of you to get on the school bus.

And I think that’s the bittersweet part of it all, you never really know which version of them you’re quietly growing out of.

The last time they reach for your hand without asking.

The phase where they insist on wearing your high heels.

When baking means sneaking frosting off the spoon.

When birthdays end with sticky fingers and frosting everywhere.

When they’re still small enough to want their big sister close.

And years from now, those won’t feel like little things.

They’ll feel like everything.

The photos worth holding onto are the ones that bring you back to who they were, and what life felt like when you were living it 🤍

Just because the weather outside is frightful👀❄️, doesn’t mean you have to wait til spring to take photos with your family. Whether you want to capture the magic of the holidays, have a milestone coming up (like welcoming home a baby), or to slow time down to make sure you never forget the little moments in between all the chaos, in-home or studio sessions are perfect this time of year!❣️

Picture baking cookies🍪 in your kitchen with your kiddos, tiny flour handprints scattered around and little giggles as they sneak a taste of the icing. Or, being snuggled up on the couch drinking hot cocoa when your toddler looks over at you with a silly milk mustache. Even the simple things become memories you’ll cherish when the littles aren’t so little anymore…feeding your newborn as they drift off to sleep😴cozy in your arms, the excitement they have as you read them their favorite book, dancing barefoot to music in the kitchen, or the adventure of building blanket forts.🙈
