“I wrote you a song and I’m going to sing it for you now.”
all the tears, laughs, + song were shared at these two’s elopement.
a day like theirs is one I’ll never fully be able to put into words. so many beautiful moments I can only explain by the photos I took - and the memories I’ll have for years to come. Nancy + Dennis eloped, just the two of them, at this beautiful location in Niantic surrounded by the ocean + gardens.
I spent 4 hours with them laughing, crying, singing, eating cake, crying again, + dancing the night away.
our day began at the Inn in Niantic where I photographed Nancy + Dennis in separate rooms getting ready, both of them anxious for the day ahead. I remember asking Dennis how he was feeling and him saying, “nervous, but very excited to marry her.”
Dennis + the way he loves Nancy melted my heart a thousand times over that day, and you can see it in every photograph.
these two shared a first look on the docks surrounded by the ocean + boats, said ‘I do’ under the gazebo surrounded by flowers, and ended the night at harkness where Dennis sang + played a song he wrote for her, just as the sun disappeared for the day.
yes, Nancy cried. yes, Dennis cried. and heck yes, I freakin cried.
these two, I love them. I love their powerful, crazy love.
my job. THIS job. I will never take it for granted. moments like this I will never forget, + never take for granted how special it is to witness.
at the end of Dennis’ song to Nancy he said, “and that was Nancy’s Wedding Day Song” and we all cried, laughed, + finished the night right there.
and it was amazing. that’s all I can say, y’all.
