A series of images that speak louder than words. Swipe left.
💔💔 .
As I was photographing my dear friend Mhykee and her beautiful boy, tears began to fall down her face. The tears represent the heartache of having to explain to her innocent little boy that as he grows up he will be treated differently. She stated,”Why do I have to have the same conversation with my son that my dad had with me so many years ago.” .
To everyone facing this reality, I want you to know that I stand with you. I will be there to listen, and to be a voice when you feel unheard. To all of the black Mothers and Fathers who are in fear for their children’s life and future....please know that I will put in the work to make a difference in this dark world. Today I pray for peace upon your hearts and your minds ❤️ I want you to know that I love everything about you, along with every difference we have. .
Let’s be the change that we want to see in the world! Let’s begin to put our biases aside. LOVE truly breaks down every barrier, and heals every wound.

🦋 Never forget that you’re loved and never forget that we were made to love others to the absolute fullest; as God instructs us. 🤍In order for us to give our best to others, we must show ourselves love first. At times self love can even come across selfish to others......but I’m here to inform you that not everyone needs to understand your decision or actions.
(Pure honesty here) lol!
As I approach 30 this Wednesday and reflect over the last 10 years of my life - I can’t even begin to explain how my 20’s have shaped my decisions for the future! I’m grateful for what I’ve learned, but there is still more to be done and a lot to be achieved! I’m looking forward to setting some new goals for my 30’s, and will be sharing in detail about some of my personal life experiences. If your not bored yet, just wait until Wednesday! Haha - I hope you have wonderful weekend. ☺️

When all else fails, eat cake! Am I right? Haha. The week isn’t over and I’m already like, can we fast forward please? 🙌🏽 Comfort food is what I need right now, but my 2020 goals are still in effect. Now is the time to focus on our fitness goals - I guess the only excuse I have for me gaining 20lbs is the quarantine snacks! 🍭 🥘 What would you prefer? Should I eat the cake or or do the workout? Maybe both? Lol. 🍰🤍🏃🏽‍♀️

did such an amazing job on this cake!! ✨😍😍

In the middle of uncertainty, there is one thing that will always remain; Gods hand in the midst of all of this. 🔑 I can fully trust and know that He holds the future in His hands - So I’m choosing to have peace amongst the chaos. 🤍
My heart goes out to everyone in the service and wedding industry.....Brides have been rescheduling their weddings left and right and we’ve had 3 weddings post pone their date this week, on top of multiple sessions being re-scheduled. So many people have been affected financially by the 🦠 pandemic and my prayers are with you all!
At the end of the day, with everyone taking precaution and following the rules within their cities, it’s only a matter of time that, this too shall pass! I’m choosing to focus on the positive...we will get through this! 🤍🤍🤍😷🦠

To have and to hold....only if you lol - our love is conditional right now. ya heard?? Haha 👀😂
On a real note, it’s just crazy how many things have been shutting down, flights canceled etc. Our world is so unpredictable and tomorrow isn’t promised! That’s why we have to live for the now, let go of the past and love the ones who have the honor of knowing! I’m grateful for each of you, and I want you to know that you’re loved and I’m grateful for you all. ❤️ “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

What I love most about documenting New Orleans weddings, is the fact that you meet so many people who choose to celebrate their love and marriage from all over the world 🌎✨ .
What makes this photo so special, is the fact that Diana is a cigar bar owner in their hometown in Minnesota! Before the wedding she expressed to me how important this photo was - so it was my ultimate goal to get some fun creative shots of the both of them together in their element! ✨ This was by far one of my favorite ways to end the night documenting their last moments together in New Orleans with all of their out of town guest! 😍 What is one of your favorite New Orleans traditions?

🔸 Often times at weddings, when it pertains to shooting details - we usually end up being very rushed. So this time for Bilee & Lances wedding, I decided it would be best to take the invitations home with me! I figured it would be a great opportunity to think about the different ways a flat lay can be designed - and to make it easier on wedding days when you want to design something that’s unique but are rushed for time. Here’s a list of tips and tricks I was able to experiment with whenever designing this flatlay! 🤗

🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸
1. Figure out your ratio before placing. Specifically in this design I decided on going with a 1:1 ratio because I know how easily instagram can crop things out. Deciding on this first will save time on having to re-do the items that you place down.
2. Make sure your invitations are aligned perfectly - This will help give it more symmetric look.
3. Don’t over-crowd the invitations using too many florals, trinkets, etc. It will takeaway from the aesthetic of the invitation and overall look too busy.
4. When placing your trinkets and florals around your invitations, be sure to evenly space everything out around your invitations. This will also help give it a symmetric look - without being too repetitive!
5. Before arriving to any wedding, pre-plan with your florist, then think about your overall design and inspiration. If your florist doesn’t have enough flowers to give, I would suggest you taking home an arrangement that will be placed on the tables at the reception and re-purpose them for your flat lay! That is exactly what I was able to do for my flat lay you see here. (And who doesn’t love a good floral arrangement in their home!?) 🌸 🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸

I hope these tips help you out when designing your own flat-lays whether that may be for personal use, or professionally these are some great guidelines to help kickstart your creativity and bring your flatlays to the next level! 🤗🥰
