Anyone who knows me understands how important photography is to my life. Photography, in simple terms, is recording present light. For me, it means much more. Photography allows me to be present in the past. It is like a time stamp that says you were present, you were there. It is like carving your name in the bark of a tree or tracing your initials in cold, wet cement..."Jewel was here". Photogra

phs allow us to reminisce and participate in the memory of love, innocence, joy... it is evident by the smile that parts our lips, the hand we place across our chest as a form of endearment or the eyebrows raised in delight. Photographs allow us to see things through someone else’s eyes, walk in someone else’s shoes and sympathize with another's plight. Photographs impel us to think, be more open minded or change our perspective. Photographs are recorded opportunities. A picture is worth a thousand words, but memories are photographic jewels. I dedicated LOVE to my girl because it (for me) is the closest glimpse of how I can begin to understand how much God loves me (all of us). I stripped the LOVE album of color to create LOVE HAS NO COLOR. At first, it was a play on words, but I wanted to convey a deeper meaning to my love for her and LOVE in general. While working on my new site and scoring through thousands of photos I came across this album and how I wanted it to be represented. This work made me take a more introspective view of not only how I love Ty, but how I love others because we are commanded to do so. I recognize how I confuse other "good" things like faith, philanthropy and hope with LOVE. Love encompasses these, but LOVE is greater than all of these. LOVE is...

patient, kind, truthful, unselfish, trusting, believing, hopeful, and enduring. It is not jealous, boastful, arrogant, rude, selfish, or angry. True love…unconditional love never fails. Love is eternal…LOVE has no color.

I am thinking of and in awe of the free and unmerited favor of GOD manifested in the bestowal of blessings..HIS GRACE! As I "worked" today, I walked around clicking and shuttering away while silently praising God for the many opportunities I have been given to do something I actually enjoy, to the extent that I do not even feel like I am working and I get paid! GOD IS SO GOOD and I wanted to take a moment to give Him the Glory!
