I am excited to share that my narrative photography collaboration with Mark Heron, “Vampire Picnic”, was selected for The Surreal 2026 exhibition at The Chateau Gallery!

Presented in five movements, The Surreal 2026 follows what happens when a familiar space develops a fault and the photograph begins to dream for itself.

Across 48 works by 33 artists, photography leaves the role of witness and becomes an instrument of invention. The exhibition moves from unstable rooms and fractured bodies through charged domestic rituals and fully constructed worlds, then returns through landscape, animal remains, and the figure dissolving back into nature.

ACTORS: Wondering why your headshots feel stiff, repetitive, and fake?

It’s because you’re POSING as a character…instead of PLAYING one.

That doesn’t happen with my process. Because I don’t pose you. I direct you.

Mistake #1: No character specificity
Actors try to “cover everything” instead of defining their type, their essence, and where they fit in casting. When there is no specificity, everything feels the same.

Mistake #2: Relying on a generic portrait
A “pretty” image isn’t enough. Your headshots shouldn’t just say, “This is what I look like.” They should say, “This is who I can play.”

Mistake #3: No real character motivation
Wardrobe alone won’t carry the image. Range doesn’t come from posing.
It comes from intention, inner life, and playable choices.

One look. Multiple characters. Real range.

The MOST common MISTAKE I see actors make with their headshots:

They change outfits and call it "range".

They bring their favorite clothes...but zero actual characters.

So what creates range?

It starts before you ever step in my studio.

I work with actors to:
– plan wardrobe based on their marketable types (not just what they like)
– refine hair + makeup so it supports those roles
– create a fun, relaxed, and collaborative environment
– and most importantly…I direct you like you’re performing, not posing.

Because the difference between “same actor in 37 shirts” and real range is simple:
👉 Character + intention + your essence

Wardrobe should support the role in your headshots
Not try to do the job for you.
