Batman & Robin: Year One

This one’s a spiritual successor (or should that be precursor?) to my Dark Knight Reurns & Carrie Kelley Robin shot from a couple of months back that used the same stunning dio as here. This time it’s a younger Batman and the original Robin, Dick Grayson, who take centre stage.

It features two awesome head sculpts by two amazing creators:

Some men work in the light. Others become the shadow.

This shot of The Punisher is inspired by a Marvel Comics corner box, (as seen in the second to last slide,) which shows The Punisher concealed within the shadows of a slatted blind.

This Mezco style Punisher custom was created with a phenomenal headset sculpt by and painted by . Belt is by . Wrist gauntlets by . The soft goods suit sewn by me uses a white iron-on vinyl skull cut with an machine.

Dark Knight Triumphant

Always wanted to recreate this cover (slide 3) to The Dark Knight Triumphant, the second part to Frank Miller’s original Dark Knight Returns, but didn’t really think I had a Batman figure capable of creating the pose – turns out all I needed was Blu-Tak! 😅

Ant-Man & ANThony …

I always find Ant-Man hard to shoot, 1/12 scale isn’t that small, so he always looks a bit too big next to everyday objects, but this Marvel Universe ANThony works pretty well at making him appear that little bit smaller.

My custom Mezco style Ant-Man was created using the Marvel Legends head, boots, and belt on a Notaman body. Soft goods by . Gauntlets by .

“Bullet-proof cape!”

Mezco Golden Age Batman shields himself from two mobster’s tommy gun fire as he prepares to pounce in retaliation.
