Megamind disguises himself as Hal's Space Dad and offers to train Hal to become a superhero. Hal takes on the name Titan, though he misspells it as Tighten. Megamind dates Roxanne while disguised as Bernard, but they fall out over Megamind's apparent lack of interest in committing further crimes. Megamind and Roxanne escape to Metro Man's old hideout, where he fakes his weakness and death to pursue his dream as a musician. Music Man encourages Megamind to become the city's new hero, but he refuses.
Tighten kidnaps Roxanne and demands Megamind fight him. Megamind escapes prison using holographic disguises to confront Tighten, but Tighten attacks him, throwing him into the stratosphere. Megamind dehydrates himself and extracts his DNA from Tighten, removing his powers. After Hal is arrested, Megamind and Roxanne rekindle their relationship, and the city celebrates Megamind as their new hero.
