Thanks for those who have checked in on me! I haven't posted here in a while. I've been busy with a personal photography project called Amazing Strength.
After my own cancer, I joined Team Phoenix, a training program to complete a sprint triathlon. In that group, I met 49 incredible teammates, six years worth of Team Phoenix alumni, innovative Doctors, medical staff and the best coaching team around.
I crossed the finish line of the triathlon Redefined, and turned to watch my teammates finish their race. I saw their determination, their strength & courage. They were sweaty, some crying, some laughing, all relieved and Proud. And beautiful.
I knew I had to photograph them - so they could see their strength...their beauty.
The images are complete and will be shared at their Reveal (It's very challenging for me to keep them under wraps!) as the donations on the link below continue to come in! These images will also be in a Gallery Exhibit. Their stories are incredible - the challenges each have overcome would blow your mind. Then, to take on the physical and mental challenges of a triathlon and to cross the finish line...Amazing Strength.
If another woman gets inspired from one of the images, where she relates to an image and thinks, maybe she, too, can move forward, past cancer, I would be happy. These are photos of your mother, your sister, your best friend, your boss...you. Cancer takes so much from a person--it doesn't matter what color you are, how old you are, how many kids or dogs (or both) you have. Team Phoenix was a way we moved forward after cancer. Many found their strength again, some found confidence they never knew they had, they found a sisterhood of incredible women who are the gifts of cancer.
If you'd like to help make a Reveal and Gallery Exhibit happen, would you consider making a donation on the link below?
With gratitude
Wendy
