Brief weekend flashback: It was a pleasure meeting Leslie Grace Martinez and special to have her join the JetBlue float and crewmembers at the annual Dominican Day Parade two weeks ago. As a bachatero, it was cool to meet an artist after hearing her bachata music renditions of classic songs back in 2013 when I was newer to the latin dance scene. Leslie, her family, and team were very down to earth and I enjoyed capturing candid moments as they waved and interacted with fans and parade goers during the event down 5th Avenue.

The Romantic Tour Day 1 Part 2 at : The second opener was - after seeing her perform a few times on TV award shows, I was excited to finally hear her live. Great genuine energy and songs had a unique vibe. Going to add more of her music to her playlists!

New peeve of mine, seeing tall men over 6’4” buying first row seats on the floor and standing an entire concert when not necessary. I’m all for people enjoying a concert, but you can save money rows behind or just sit when you’re in front and still have a perfect angle to watch and record at your leisure. You can see from my vid this gentleman with huge keloid growths in both his ears was standing. I saw shorter women in all the rows behind him struggle to have a view. That would ruin what could be a great floor experience.

The Romantic Tour, Part 1 (Friday) at MetLife Stadium as people enjoy night 3 of NY/NJ: The fantastic concert opener is .WEE MAN, an alias of Anderson .White aka HeisenPaak - he’s so silly 🤪 and embodied my internal goofball with music, the right kind of energy to hype up the crowd to start off the night. Mixing in everything from 90s throwbacks, classic songs, 2000s hip hop, and La Chona 🕺.

My first time on the floor for a concert at MetLife Stadium, love the ambience down here, but it’s a hit or miss depending on who you have sitting in the rows in front of you. I had a line of tall guys, with one sloppy drunk and jumping back and forth hugging his friends between 4 seats, blocking my view at times.

June Dump: Figured I’d make a stop on the way home at Tiffany & Co. to see Larry 🏆, after volunteering.

Appreciative of the free opportunity for fans to see the Knicks Championship trophy for a weekend, and the efforts of cordial and professional Tiffany security/employees OUTSIDE keeping the order. I was assured by two gentleman that we got on line in time and would be given ample time to examine the trophy, snap photos of ourselves, and not be rushed. However, the poor recognition and lazy efforts of staff INSIDE to curb line cutting of faux customers ballooned what should’ve been a 2 hour wait to a 4 hour wait. By the time me and the friends I made online reached inside, we saw dozens of people who did not make the line queue cutoff behind us exiting the elevator bank, so they were able to lie their way through after sneaking upstairs and faking restaurant reservations. Super disappointing to see them turn away kids and families who traveled to NYC to see it, but then letting 🐂💩 slide and letting entitled couples through. To add insult to injury, the exact moment I reached the trophy for my turn to take photos, employees ushered in a white family “VIP” group in front of me, robbing me of the time given to every single line-skipping white couple ahead of me.

I’m glad they decided to add a Larry O’Brien trophy exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History through January 2027, because it was a travesty they only gave New Yorkers and fans 4 days to view the trophy before it left NYC.

June Dump: All my co-workers flaked, but silver lining shout out to new friend (via Knicks parade) Lito Velez Jr from the NYPD for coming through at the end of June with friends to volunteer at the New Alternatives for Children New Alternatives for Children Annual Kid Olympics & Carnival at Asphalt Green. Despite the drizzle, the kids and families were able to enjoy sports and activities on the field.
•
It was a great turnout of corporate volunteers, I hope friends and co-workers can join me to volunteer at other events throughout the year, the holidays, and next summer!

June/Summer Dump in NYC: We were outside all summer witnessing a Game of Thrones Game of Thrones. We had a King Brunson Jalen Brunson crowned🤴🏽of New York 🏀🏆, a rightful Spanish 🇪🇸🏆tournament champion Selección Española Masculina de Fútbol celebrated in New Jersey, hip-hop/rap royalty jayz return to the Bronx to perform with his Queen 👸🏾Bey, and a Queen Rhaenyra crowned🫅🏼 of the 7 Kingdoms House of the Dragon 😆.

Despite showing up early and following directions, I wasn’t able to make it to the parade route during the New York Knicks 🏀 Knicks ticker tape parade. The following Sunday, I decided to take an afternoon stroll and walk the parade route down Broadway (aka the Canyon of Heroes) to take photos. There were still traces of confetti, but it was a peaceful and serene quiet with fans gone and celebrations over.

I was able to reflect on what an experience this playoff run was, and how it rejuvenated our city.

Fans were climbing anything to get vertical for a better view of City Hall, though few had anything better than obstructed views.

I swear this guy snuck in with a generic safety vest and hard hat, because all other NYS had branded PPE. He walked right on in past NYPD without credentials and with Knicks shorts + Timbs

Jerk of a New York Sanitation Employee. Had plenty of spots to stand behind the SUV or truck that wouldn’t have blocked the view for fans, but after we asked a tall guy to move, he moved into the same spot, turned around, and smirked in defiance.
