Hello dear clients,

I'm venturing into something new—and a little vulnerable but I am excited to share it with you.

You know me for portrait photography. For capturing your families, your moments, your people. And I adore that work.

But there's another side to my photography. One that started during quiet walks with my Rolleiflex, shooting medium format film around New York City. Just me, the streets, and the light. It brought me a sense of peace that deeply inspired me to add a photography business to my life.

I've kept these moments and images mostly to myself… until now.

Introducing Suzanne Fiore Art —my new Etsy shop featuring fine art film and high resolution digital photographs from my favorite NYC spots. Washington Square. Riverside Church. Cherry Lane Theater and will expand into Jersey City, Hoboken, London, the Caribbean and beyond. Plus frames, canvas, and metal prints down the road.

This is a different kind of work for me. More personal. More quiet. And I'd love for you to see it.

P.S. Today is my birthday! 🎂 If you're not looking for art right now, a follow on Instagram, My New page or Pinterest would mean the world. If you do find something, I am offering a gift too. Please use this promo code to get free shipping: SHIPFREE
But mostly? I hope these images become gifts for you or someone you love someday.

My job is extraordinary, really. I spend my days looking at light and love—and everything else grows from there.

Sometimes love looks like a family sharing a quiet laugh between takes.
Sometimes it's the way a couple stops for a hug or quick glance of admiration. Sometimes it's laughter with a friend or the way we connect with our surroundings. Sometimes it shows in a thought or a worry or the way someone loves what they do.

Light guides where I point the camera. But love is what I'm actually trying to capture. The unposed moments. The honest looks. The connection to each other, and to the things that move us.

Here's to the love you can feel, even when no one is saying a word. Happy Valentine's Day. ✨💞

What a perfect way to begin the year. I was deeply humbled to capture this 75th celebration for a woman so clearly adored. People traveled from near and far to celebrate what she has given them. Her love, and the love of her family and friends, filled the room. The hugs, the laughter and genuine gratitude for such a meaningful surprise were a joy to capture. It was a warmth so genuine that they invited me to share their dinner table. Though I tried to decline, they welcomed me as family for the night—and I felt it. Editing these photos brought me to tears; I felt as though I were looking at my own family. I am profoundly moved. I am so grateful to have witnessed and documented such a beautiful testament to a life well-loved.

Throwback to a powerful evening during The Ghostlight Project.

In 2017, as theatres across the country gathered to pledge inclusivity, I captured this moment of solidarity between members of the NY Deaf Theatre and IRT Theatre.
New York Deaf Theatre
IRT Theater

Holding light against the dark, they embodied a shared vow: to create sanctuaries of belonging on stage and off. In their hands, the ghostlight wasn't just a symbol—it was a promise for access, representation, and a stage where every voice is essential.

This image, for me, remains a profound snapshot of Dr. King’s dream in action: a community actively building itself with intention, courage, and light. Their advocacy continues to inspire my work and perspective.

I like to show up here every so often to say a proper hello to my new and loyal clients. 👋

This year started with a 75th surprise birthday celebration, filled with so much love from a husband to his wife and immense admiration for the guest of honor from the entire room of friends and family. It reminded me why I do this: to preserve the real connection, the laughter, and the quiet glances between people who truly care for each other. I’m here to help you feel seen and comfortable, so we can create images you’ll feel connected to for years to come. That’s the magic I live to capture through my lens for you. Thank you for choosing me as your collaborator. So glad you’re here. Tell me, what brought you to my page?

And a little hint… I'm creating a new way to celebrate the soul of the places I love. A new business chapter is about to begin! 🏙️✨ Stay tuned.

Final image from my Then & Now series.
A personal highlight of my year.
Then: A portrait session in her grandmother’s beloved Manhattan apartment.
Now: Capturing her wedding day.
I’ve known her since she was born, a testament to my decades-long friendship with her brother, one of my best friends. To be a witness to these bookend moments meant more than I can say.
This feels like a celebration of it all: honoring family past, reveling in the joy of the present, smiling toward the future, and cherishing the deep friendships that frame our lives.
A perfect note to end on.

Happy New Year. 💜

A belated post...
🎄 Merry Christmas Eve! ✨
Over the years, some of the greatest gifts under my (professional) tree haven’t been wrapped in paper—they’ve been wrapped in hugs, laughter, and the incredible honor of watching your families grow.
This amazing family calls Sweden home, but whenever their journey brings them back to NYC, we create new memories together. From then to now, it’s been an absolute joy to be your NYC photo chapter.
Thank you for the best gift a photographer could ask for: your trust, year after year.
Wishing you all a holiday filled with love and light. ❤️

More from my then and now series.

Some clients feel like a reflection of your own story.
Photographing these two sisters over the years has been a special experience. Our families mirror each other in some ways that feels familiar: two girls, a family of four, and the unique perspective that comes from loving someone with intellectual disabilities. It’s a love that doesn’t overthink; it just is. It teaches you to love others without a second thought. Sometimes you photograph a version of your own journey and have a moment to think about how family members have shaped you.
Thanks to this family for letting me capture your beautiful bond over the years. It’s been a true privilege.

You know what I love? Clients who feel like old friends...you pick up right where you left off. We don’t schedule something every year, but every other year or so, they circle back. And it’s the best. It’s like getting to see a whole new chapter of their story all at once. This awesome kid has grown and that rock-solid bond with his mom just gets cooler to witness.
Gaps in the timeline don’t mean a thing when the connection is this strong. So grateful to be their "every-so-often" photographer.

What’s your favorite thing about looking back at old photos?

I have been thinking about a "Then & Now" Series as I bring to a close my 10th official year in business and have been starting to look through the archives with families who have stood by me! It is a genuine celebration for the families I’ve had the honor of documenting across the years.
This installment is a decade in the making. Ten years ago, this dad and his boys first struck their playful “See No, Hear No, Speak No Evil” pose for me...a nod to a centuries-old visual proverb.
What makes this “Then & Now” especially meaningful isn't just these two bookend images. It's the eight others in between. A full collection of ten portraits, each a chapter, that lives in the family’s own archive. This is the legacy of a yearly ritual.
A note on the logistics: The father (affectionately "Tata") has been a champ, literally shouldering the same son for ten straight years to make the lineup work.
The true curator of this collection is Mom—the one who remembers who was which “monkey” each year and preserves the continuity of their story. My role is to frame the moment; hers is to hold the timeline.
This is the quiet power of a yearly portrait: building a visual history. It’s why I love documenting families—not only for a single photo, but for a story told across years. I am so grateful to those repeating clients who choose me to tell it. Here’s to the next ten…let's all wish Tata good luck!💪🤣
