Some shoots you plan. Some shoots you dream about for years before they finally happen, before you even know what they will turn out to be or what they will look like.

This one was both.

Chinatown at night. Shot entirely on film. No digital backup. Just a huge leap of faith, trust, a continuous light, and rolls of film I had to make count.

A few years ago I fell into Wong Kar-Wai’s films and something shifted in me as an artist. The neon, the longing, the way time moves differently in his frames. When this couple came to me open to something cinematic and a little unexpected, I knew exactly where we needed to go.

Chinatown felt inevitable. My first New York apartment was on Mott and Bayard, so returning with a camera, years later, felt like seeing a place I loved through completely new eyes.

The noodle shop stopped me. Strangers paused to watch. The light was everything. And for a moment, it felt like we were the only people there.

That’s the thing about film. It slows you down just enough to actually feel what’s in front of you.

Sharing this one during AAPI month. This city, this neighborhood, this light. It’s all part of the story.

Some celebrations do not need excess. They only need meaning.

A spring elopement at The Lowell Hotel. A City Hall ceremony with family. Candlelight, soft florals, and an intimate dinner that felt unmistakably New York. Elegant without trying. Refined without effort.

The photographs followed the same rhythm. Quiet moments. Beautiful restraint. Presence over performance. A day that felt timeless because it was true to them.

For couples who want depth, atmosphere, and images that will only grow more meaningful with time.

Shot on film and digital 🤍
