There’s almost always a post-proposal debrief - “how did you pull that off without me knowing?!” 👀

Here’s the answer: chances are, your partner did a full-on planning mission with me weeks before the big moment, where we visited the location to scout potential spots to pop the question. (And if you and your partner were visiting from out of town, we likely did this walkthrough over FaceTime).

After the walkthrough, I send photos like these - complete with a superimposed silhouette of a couple mid-proposal - so your partner knows exactly where to stand when it’s time to ask you to marry them. 💍

When planning a proposal in NYC, always have a backup plan!

Will and I originally had our sights set on a relatively quiet spot by the Lake in Central Park, near the Hernshead Boat Landing gazebo. But not long before the big moment, the area was packed with people, there to watch a group of musicians perform directly on the spot where Will was going to pop the question. Such is life sometimes for an NYC proposal.

So, we pivoted - because we were prepared! Will proposed to Maggie in a tucked-away spot in the Ramble, and it turned out absolutely perfect. Afterward, we celebrated with a photoshoot around the Lake - champagne, skyline views, and all the beauty Central Park has to offer. We were even able to get some follow-up shots and the originally planned spot.

Congrats Maggie and Will!

Yep, back in the northern section of . For intimate occasions like a proposal, it’s tough to beat!

When Ferdinand reached out to plan his proposal, we discussed many different locations around the city, each holding significance to his and Jess’s relationship. We settled on the area just north/west of the Central Park Reservoir. The lighting could not have been more perfect, and the crowds were sparse (let’s keep it that way - it makes editing much easier 😁).

Swipe through for the best moments from Ferdinand and Jess’s proposal shoot, including some BNW edits at the end! As always, full gallery on my website.

Congrats F & J!

It’s safe to say that, of all the photoshoots I’ve done, the most commonly requested location is Central Park (for obvious reasons).

It’s also safe to say that, if you ask the question: “where in Central Park should we do our photoshoot?”, I’ll most likely answer “north of the Central Park Reservoir.”

Without a doubt, the entire park from 59th to 110th is stunning, but there’s one simple reason that I recommend north of 97th - fewer crowds!

For Tom and Divya’s engagement shoot, we started in the always stunning English section of the Conservatory Garden, and eventually worked our way to the North Woods but not without stopping at multiple beautiful spots on the paths along the way.

With the restoration project being complete, the Central Park Conservatory Garden is now fully open!

When Alaska reached out about proposing in the English Garden (the southernmost of three areas within the Conservatory Garden), I knew we were going to have tons of incredible pockets of scenery to choose from.

During our in-person advanced walkthrough (now included with all proposal shoots - trust me, it’s important!), we scoped out the English Garden and picked multiple spots where Alaska might consider popping the question to Parnaz. We even chose some backup options outside the garden, just in case.

Here are some photos from the proposal and subsequent photoshoot. Slides 1-8 were from the English Garden, while slides 9-15 were from the newly restored Italian Garden.

During a recent NYC heatwave, Daniel kept it cool 😎 when popping the question to Katie. We found a nice shaded area in Central Park’s Cedar Hill for this magical moment. Add this spot to the list of incredible places to propose in Central Park! 🏙️🌳💍📸

Capturing a train rolling through the Rockies has been a bucket list shot of mine for quite some time.

Luckily, we didn’t have to venture very far from our hotel to find this incredible vantage point (no, seriously… this was mere steps from our hotel ).

The biggest challenge is that there isn’t a publicly available schedule of when these trains pass through, so patience is key. Honestly, with views like this, I’m happy to wait!

After about 1.5 hours of waiting, a Canadian Pacific freight train passed through, with Mount Temple (the highest peak in the Lake Louise area) looking down upon it.

A pizza proposal story 🍕💍:

First time visitors to NYC, Drew and Jessica were exploring the West Village during an evening of on-and-off pouring rain. Drew had a plan: “get Jessica to Pier 45 for a proposal with a beautiful skyline view!” Jessica also had a plan: “we’re in NYC.. let’s get pizza!”

So why not both?
