Why do we say “Breast Cancer Warriors?”
Those with breast cancer have to face the endgame.

Today in Sweden, my personal photo project Beyond Pink will be shown at Zita, Birger Jarlsg. 28/5 at 18:00 in Stockholm as a slideshow before the premiere of Angelina Jolie’s film Couture, with support from the Swedish Breast Cancer Association, Bröstcancerförbundet.
In Couture, Angelina Jolie plays Maxine Walker, an American filmmaker navigating Paris Fashion Week while facing a breast cancer diagnosis. The film brings together fashion, identity, vulnerability, and survival — themes deeply connected to the heart of Beyond Pink.
Beyond Pink shows real people on their breast cancer journeys — not as statistics, not as scars, not as pink ribbons, but as whole human beings. The project exists to help normalize what breast cancer can look like, support body confidence, and open honest conversations around surgery, recovery, identity, and resilience.
I am deeply honored to share this work in Sweden and grateful to Bröstcancerförbundet for supporting the opportunity to bring these images into conversation with Couture.

This Memorial Day weekend, we remember our heroes. I’m reflecting on the many communities, histories, sacrifices, and voices that continue shaping America—including Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders who are deeply woven into the story of this country.
Asian Americans are not separate from the American story.

We are part of it.

From immigrants and small business owners to artists, organizers, military families, healthcare workers, educators, and creators—we continue helping shape the future while honoring the generations who came before us.

Last night America said goodbye to one of its most fearless voices. After 11 years and nearly 1,800 episodes, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert aired its final episode.

I had the honor of photographing Stephen at the Ripple of Hope Gala in December 2025 — a man who used humor, heart, and truth as his weapons. Standing in that room I felt it: this is what courage looks like.

Martyrs plant seeds. And those seeds? That's us.

"Nothing can dim the light which shines from within." — Maya Angelou

This portrait was taken during a female entrepreneur retreat on the breathtaking shores of Lake Atitlán in Guatemala. I really wanted to capture the feeling of the place—the stillness of the lake, the epic volcanic landscape, and the calm, grounded energy that exists there.
Photographed here is the incredible — Reiki Master, healer, and bestselling author of Chakra Healing.
For this portrait, I mixed ambient light with strobes on location using my Elinchrom setup to balance the natural environment while still sculpting light around the subject. I love blending technical lighting with real atmosphere so the image still feels alive and connected to the location.
Strong location portraits always tell a bigger story.
Not just who someone is—but where they are in their journey.
Also… that calm, faraway gaze against the volcanoes? Total Friday energy. 🌿✨

This image is from a shoot I did with the Brown University Women’s Rugby Team, who went on to become national champions that year.

Here’s to strong women. Athletic women. Vulnerable women. Women who carry both softness and strength.

I love about this image. It holds power and playfulness at the same time. Strength and humor. Grit and glamour.

To me, superheroes often look like women who show up, take hits, keep moving, support each other, and lead with heart.

I also like to do mixed lighting. Strobe + ambient light—freezing the action while keeping the natural energy of the field and sky.

The inspiration here was the vintage aesthetic of old-school 3D glasses. I wanted to play with the concept of anaglyph color separation—the idea that you need two distinct perspectives to create one cohesive, vibrant image. 🔴🔵

It’s a perfect metaphor for what I do. As a photographer, I don't just "take pictures"; I layer character, lighting, and technical precision to bring a brand's vision into focus.

Whether it’s high-fashion or character-driven narratives, I thrive on the technical challenges that make an image pop.
