This series of images is part of a project titled Second Life.
The project breathes new life into a collection of rejected images, primarily Kodak Ektachrome—better known as slides—culled from my extensive assignments as a photojournalist between the early 1980s and the early 2000s.

Second Life serves as a metaphor for our human experience: a reflection on our triumphs and failures, and the enduring possibility of renewal. Much like the mythical phoenix rising from the ashes, these images are given a second chance to shine.

The transformation is achieved through a blend of chemical processes and natural alterations to the film emulsion, reimagining their original form into something entirely new.
