Capturing my first NYC St. Patrick’s Day was an amazing experience!
The people and joyful bagpipes created an iconic atmosphere, but the genuine connections between the marchers and the crowd truly moved me.
NYC gave me countless unforgettable moments, and I can’t wait to relive the magic!

Let’s be honest: nobody actually likes the 'stare and smile. It’s awkward, it’s stiff, and it’s usually not you. My years in news and documentary photography taught me that the best stories aren't the ones we stage, they’re the ones we find when we stop trying so hard.
The real magic? It’s in the quiet exhale after the ceremony, the messy, unscripted laughter during the toasts, and all those tiny, fleeting seconds where you completely forgot I was even in the room. Those are the moments that actually matter

This is my first time attending one of these events since we moved to New Jersey.
Join me for a fun weekend featuring cocktails, live music, and some of the Hudson Valley’s best curated artisans.

Every time I press the shutter, I’m looking for a feeling. Forget stiff poses or checking boxes, I’m after the raw, documentary stuff. Those split-second glances, the quiet moments no one sees, and the beautiful mess that unfolds when you finally stop performing.
Here are 10 things about how I show up on your wedding day after a decade behind the lens.

If you think hiring a photographer is just about “nice pictures,” you’re missing 90% of the value. Read this BEFORE your next photoshoot.

Hiring a professional photographer isn't just about getting "nice pictures," it's about the entire experience and the results that come with it. A photo reflects who you are, your confidence, your story, whether that's personal or for your brand.
Here's what working with a pro actually offers you:
📷 An eye for the details that matter -
Pros notice the small things: your posture, the light hitting your face just right, the little expressions, the textures. Those details make all the difference.

📷 Creative direction that brings your vision to life -
A professional photographer doesn't just show up and click; they help you plan the look, the feel, and the vibe. They bring ideas you haven't thought of and guide you through styling, locations, and concepts that work well together.

📸 You'll feel confident even if you're usually camera shy -
A good photographer knows how to guide you, capture you with intention, and help you see yourself differently. They'll bring out your strength, beauty, and identity—often in ways you haven't seen before.

📸 Real moments and memories you'll never forget -
Working with a pro isn't just transactional, it's an experience. The laughter between takes, the stories you share, and the way they make you feel comfortable and seen. Those moments stay with you long after the photos are delivered.

🎥 Photos that will remain meaningful for years -
Moments pass quickly, but quality images endure. When you hire a professional, you're left with timeless photos you'll cherish forever.

🎥 Results AI could never replicate -
AI can produce images, but it can't capture the real you, your energy, your emotion, or the way light naturally falls on your face. A professional photographer captures authentic, human moments with depth, soul, and a quality that no algorithm can match.

Why Go Black & White?

In a world full of color, why strip it all away? Black and white isn't about what's missing; it's about focus. Without color, you see what really matters: light, shadow, emotion. It gives images a timeless, dramatic quality, only if the image is good in the first place.

This Quote Hits: "When you photograph people in color, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in Black and white, you photograph their souls!" Ted Grant. I agree with this so much, especially when shooting portraits or weddings. Sometimes a colorful outfit or background overshadows the person's expression, their eyes, and the raw emotion. Stripping away color allows the true essence to come forward, much like peeling back layers to reveal what's real.

Last week, I had the opportunity to shoot something truly special, the "Resilience Under Pressure" seminar at the World Trade Center.
American Friends of NATAL and the Israel Center on Addiction brought together individuals working at the intersection of trauma and addiction care, and it was truly remarkable to witness.
Spent the day capturing conversations between experts from Israel and the U.S. as they shared ideas about recovery, healing, and building stronger support systems.
Thanks to everyone who made it happen!

See, anyone can tell you to tilt your chin and smile. But documentary wedding photography? That requires years of learning to anticipate moments before they happen. To remain invisible. To trust the story instead of creating it. This is the difference between a photoshoot and photography that feels authentic to you. And that's exactly what you're paying for.

Just spent the day getting completely lost in the Renaissance Faire magic! ✨ Honestly felt like a kid in a candy store with my camera - everyone SO into character that the energy was absolutely contagious!
After the last two miserable years back home, it felt so good to just get lost in pure fun and escapism for a day. If you're a photographer or just love unique experiences, this place is a goldmine! Already planning my next visit because one day wasn't enough.
Have you ever been to a Renaissance Faire? Tell me if I'm the only one who gets this excited about time travel!
