Deaf Can…
Get to know the AA2 Flight Crew! Today we introduce you to Sheila Xu (she/her). Sheila is currently pursuing dual MPP and MBA degrees at Harvard University and the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania and has earned her Bachelor of Science in Humanities and Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Sheila is an oral and signing deaf woman who previously interned with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the Department of Transportation, where she co-authored a publication on aviation biojet fuels. She hopes to become an impact investor and policymaker in the future. Sheila is also the first deaf Asian female pilot after completing her Sport Pilot training through a partnership between Able Flight and Purdue University in 2021. Sheila has backpacked solo around the world for a year and moved to Italy to teach ASL!
