New education work for KSS Architects!

For its newest South Bronx school, Classical Charter Schools sought a ‘classical school building’ to support its distinctive approach to educating scholars through a rigorous curriculum focused on art, Latin, debate, and other disciplines proven to prepare students for success now and for the rest of their lives. KSS’ design weaves classical architectural elements throughout modern spaces to create a contemporary facility rooted in history. The new four-story building translates the concept of the agora, as well as other classical elements including the amphitheater, temple, and stoa into modern spaces. Scandinavia House, by Polshek Partnership, now Ennead Architects. This was shot way back in 2007 on my way to another shoot on Park Ave. The light was nice so I had to stop.
