Some Food for Thought to all my postal constituents:
Stop complaining about your job if you’re not willing to do what’s necessary to attain your freedom.
The bu****it that comes with this job is the same bu****it everyone of us signed up for.
The early mornings and late nights, the demanding hours, the long routes, the weather, and the heavy weight of the workload — it all comes with the territory.
The USPS isn’t facing financial difficulties because there’s no money. It’s because of ineffective leadership and excessive bureaucracy. Too many incompetent managers, not enough accountability — resulting in a broken chain of leadership, structure, stability, organization, and communication.
The absence of common sense, human decency, and empathy toward craft employees — the very hard-working people keeping this organization running, who show up every single day, in how we’re treated and how service gets delivered.
This mismanagement is draining the organization from the top down. It’s unjust to hold craft employees responsible for failures that start in the offices above us.
The drama, the nonsense, and the ain’t-sh*t co-workers — none of it is a surprise. It’s all by design.
That’s the deal. We all knew it going in.
But so is the paycheck, the benefits, and the stability that a lot of people wish they had. So the real question is: are you using this job as a stepping stone, or just a complaint?
If the frustration is real, let it mean something.
Channel it as motivation. Use it as fuel for the fire.
Learn your contract. Know your rights. Build something on the side. Stack your primary income and invest it — build wealth while you still have that steady paycheck. If you plan to exit, exit with intention.
The job is what it is. The bu****it is part of the package. But what you do with your time, energy, and money while you’re in it? That’s entirely up to you.
Your freedom is being built by the choices you make right now, or it isn’t. Stop waiting for the job to change. Take charge and build your own path to freedom.
