Natalie + Alex were one of the first couples I photographed this year after the pandemic hit NYC. It felt SO good to be back on the Brooklyn Bridge with my camera, watching the city slowly wake up with the sun.

Today marks two years in NYC. 🖤

There really aren’t words for what this city has been through these past few months. There just aren’t. All I know is that this place is home to some of the most brave, selfless, and tough people on the planet. I’m lucky to have been here. Lucky to have seen it through and watch it slowly come back to life.

Did you know engagement sessions can look like windy hair, dirty feet, and your favorite pair of jeans? Yup. No heels required!

Some of my best advice before hopping in front of the camera for the first time: stay away from Pinterest as much as I possible. I know, I know! I’m obsessed too. 😭
⠀
But trust me when I say you may want to reconsider those perfectly posed, every-hair-in-place model status photos. Why? Because that’s not real life. And if you’re anything like me and my guy, that’s definitely not how real relationships go. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Some couples just wanna take a shot and laugh their way through the entire session. Others may be down to run around the busiest streets of Manhattan like no one is watching or snap some shots cozied up on the couch like they do every night together.

I’m ALL for inspiration, but nothing is more important than photos that actually feel like you. My job as your professional third wheel is to figure out what that looks like, get you comfortable, and make it a damn good time. 👏🏼

Anyone else been on a re-editing spree these past few months?! I haven’t had a couple in front of my lens since February (yes, February 😩) and honestly think I’m wedding deprived. It’s a real thing, I swear.

Even though I’m SO ready to create something new, it’s been fun looking back on old work and seeing how much my style has changed over the years! I remember when I first picked up a camera and thought my emo Picnik photos in the backyard were straight up ART. 😭
