Home of faces of every color, shape, and size, belonging to people of different races, of different ages, all with different cultural and social beliefs. The We Shoot project hopes to reveal to the world that every smile, imperfect or perfect; every freckle, every beauty mark, scar, mole, frown line and every wrinkle tells a story. A story of the people that make New York City the city the world h
as grown to adore. Inspired by the photo tent set up of the late photographer and artist, George Edward Anderson, we will be utilizing street studios (a simple white back drop, and the natural light fron the sun with the clouds as a soft box) in different neighborhoods in all 5 boroughs. In these studios we will be taking portraits and capturing the headshots of complete strangers, using a 50mm lens getting up close n personal in a city which is believed to be impersonal. We want to take these portraits and compose a photo book with them. And not your ordinary photo book trying to show what places and hangouts make New York hip or entertaining but depicting the people who make New York phenomonal!
