Ground Zero, the now-iconic site of remembrance, which sees intense foot traffic as it memorializes the trauma felt throughout the world.

Taken the week of the 20th anniversary of 9/11 while documenting the chaotic scenes of the build-up and how individuals acts of remembrance interact with the space.

Thousands LGBTI+ activists and allies from all corners of the world gathered in Belgrade last week to celebrate EuroPride2022. The event was held outside of the EEA for the first time in history, marking a major milestone for Belgrade Pride and the LGBTI+ in the region.

It was a week full of emotion and intensity that didn’t go on without its difficulty, including the initial ban of the march by the government.

The ban was finally overturned as a new route was submitted and action was taken by the Serbian government to ensure the safety of all those partaking in the march on 17.9.2022.

The rain, heavy police presence nor the opposing side stopped anyone from taking to the street and evoking their rights.

If you don’t already know, Sarah Everard was kidnapped and murdered by a Metropolitan Police Officer on March 3rd which ignited an international conversation around women’s rights. What began as an event to mourn the loss of a woman to horrid events and police brutality has turned into a necessary discussion revolving around inequality, lack of safety for women, sexual assault and corrupt governments. Images are from demonstrations on Sunday March 14th and Monday the 15th where many have defied national COVID restrictions to take to the streets and to protest against the implementation of a new bill giving increased power to police, limiting freedom to protest, and to speak up against violence towards women.

Its my mom (Brenda’s) birthday today. Its been almost 3 year since we’ve seen or spoken to each other due to unfortunate circumstances. Regardless of everything, you’re on my mind today in a new way, away from pain and discouragement moving towards forgiveness. We won’t see each other again in this life but I send you light, love and gratitude for everything I learned growing up around you.
