A 65-foot hot dog is back in Times Square—but it’s not here only for laughs. 🌭

Created by Brooklyn artists Jen Catron and Paul Outlaw, “Hot Dog: The Second Serving” uses one of America’s most familiar foods to explore immigration, consumer culture, patriotism, masculinity and the country’s love of spectacle.

Hot dogs were brought to America through Central European immigrant traditions and grew from affordable working-class street food into a symbol of New York vendors, baseball games, summer celebrations and American culture.

Every day at noon, the sculpture rises above Times Square and shoots confetti from its tip. The performance is part celebration, part comedy and part commentary on America’s obsession with making everything bigger, louder and impossible to ignore.

History was hiding behind the billboards in Times Square. 👀

During a building renovation, workers uncovered this Wrigley’s Spearmint advertisement dating back to 2001—before giant LED screens took over Times Square.

Who remembers seeing this ad 25 years ago?

Trinity Church was founded in 1697—79 years before the United States declared independence.

The current Gothic Revival building opened in 1846, and its historic churchyard is the final resting place of Alexander Hamilton and his wife, Eliza.

More than 300 years of New York history, standing at the end of Wall Street.
