Hilltop Village of Ventavon — French Alps

On my way back from photographing another beautiful village, I couldn't resist making one last stop to capture the hilltop village of Ventavon in the warm evening light.
From above, the village reveals its spectacular setting, overlooking the vast Durance Valley and the surrounding Alps

Lavender Fields at Sunset - Provence - France

I miss one of my favorite lavender fields on the Valensole Plateau...
This year, it's still a wheat field. Over the years, many of the plateau's iconic lavender fields have been replaced by wheat or clary sage.
I'll keep coming back until the lavender returns.

Les Drus – Chamonix – French Alps

I've always had enthusiasm for massive mountain ranges, and the French Alps never disappoint. The Mont Blanc massif is in a league of its own — I've photographed it a few times now, and it still gets me every time.
This is Les Drus at sunset, just after a storm cleared. That golden light breaking through the clouds was quite incredible.

Sisteron - French Alps

This is what I would call "being at the right place at the right time"... :)
I was lucky that day when rays of sun burst through the summer storm clouds and illuminated the city and its famous citadelle.
