Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday as I unveil six new sculptural works developed during my July residency at SAW Gallery. Working alongside the gallery’s residency team and fabrication shop, we expanded the language of the Relief Paintings into three-dimensional form, bringing a new chapter of the practice to life.

Last week, I had the pleasure of celebrating my 47th birthday in Southampton while preparing for my upcoming solo exhibition, RELIEF, at SAW Gallery.
⠀
As part of SAW’s ongoing artist residency program, I spent the week installing the exhibition, creating new works to be unveiled during the show, hitting the beach with the crew, and getting excited about what lies ahead in this new partnership.

I couldn’t have asked for a better way to begin another year.
⠀
Here’s to 47 years of FRESH encounters!!

Thank you .glenn for bringing me into the room for the MoMA Black Arts Council Benefit “A Night Out with Friends,” honoring Anita Blanchard and Martin Nesbitt, and our beloved .

Thank you for that generous live performance. Thank you to my friend and collector .nyc for keeping us dancing all night. And last but definitely not least, thank you for capturing the photos.

Sixteen Years Clean and Sober on the Sixteen of March. My sweet sixteen so to speak. It was on this day back in 2010 that all the stars aligned and I became proof that miracles do exist. Today I’ve been reflecting on the life I almost lost and all the people in it, the life I couldn’t quite find peace of mind in and the life I’ve gotten to experience a day at a time for the past sixteen years.

I’m grateful to the family and friends that stood by me for all the years I could hardly stand on my own two feet and I’m grateful for the friend who threw me a lifeline out of the grave I was digging for myself.

Life isn’t easy but it’s more amazing than it was ever going to be if I didn’t stop ruining it with drugs and alcohol so here’s to life, living it to the FULL and not ever going at it alone.

2025 put up one hell of a fight. I got knocked down and knocked around repeatedly but never knocked out so I kept getting up, showing up and showing out because I can’t expect to get a victory my scorecard that I haven’t fought for.

And these days, there’s even more to fight for.
