The first time the bride and groom see each other on the wedding day in their wedding dress and suit is such a romantic and unforgettable experience. It’s actually a major part of the wedding day and happens to be something that the photographer plans. We believe that it’s so important to keep this time real. It should feel like a romantic adventure and not a commercial photoshoot.

Our advice to our B&Gs is “Think of the photography as secondary right now. The most important thing is to be present and connect with each other” - The little secret is that when they do this the photos are even better! 😏

Love is in the air! Nicole’s custom dress by has such an edgy elegance. Morphew de- and re-constructed a vintage runway sample into this beautiful gown. How fantastic is that black feather cape?! - and Jeb’s purple velvet dinner jacket!

The Plaza’s prime location, right at the intersection of Fifth Avenue, Central Park, and the vibrant energy of Midtown, makes it an ideal spot to experience the city’s energy.

Springtime in NYC is truly magical, especially when capturing the story of a couple who so clearly loves each other!

THE AISLE. There’s so much anticipation and meaning in the air before the bride goes down the aisle—especially between the bride and her parents. It’s that moment when all their dreaming and planning is finally coming to fruition.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For this reason it’s also one of the most challenging and rewarding parts of a wedding to photograph. To capture it, I position myself to get the best angle in a way that enables everyone to feel free to connect and then I study how the light hits the bride’s dress and figure. I track the expressions on everybody’s faces, watch their hands and those meaningful glances. I respond to the way the bride’s veil moves as she starts down the aisle. I’m keeping a balanced composition in my viewfinder and when the decisive moment comes I release the shutter. It’s such a rewarding feeling when all of these elements come into alignment and I’m able to preserve them forever in an image.

Lina Shteyn’s innate European stylishness, easy-going personality and love of a good party make her both a distinctly gifted photographer a true pleasure to work with.

Lina may well be the only photographer we know who has published images in the New Yorker while working on a PhD dissertation in cellular biology. Although originally trained as a scientist, Lina’s life-long love of photography evolved into a new career ten years ago when she became a photographer at Ira Lippke Studios.

Since then, Lina has developed her distinct aesthetic and her own inimitable approach to photography that intermixes technical expertise with creative instinct. Above all, it’s her passion for art, beauty, and the present moment that enables her to preserve those fleeting high points of life into treasured images.
