It’d be lying to say I missed posting on IG (last post oct 14). My average time on IG is currently at ~4,5min per day (30min/week) - I mainly check DMs.
It feels great.
I love meeting you all in the real world, seeing your work at the back of your camera and chatting over photography for hours.

All that to say, shooting in Tokyo at night with friends is fun.

Whenever people ask how I set up my camera for street shots, it’s usually the same few things.
So I wrote them down in a cheat sheet.

Most people don’t believe me when I tell them these photos are shot with the same camera they hold in their hands everyday: their phone! Yet they are: all these were taken over the years: whether it is iPhone or Android there is hardly a limit to what you can do creatively nowadays.
I personally love a good challenge with a phone to push myself!
Don’t stop at the gear, work on your skills ❤️

This shoot could have gone really wrong. I remember forgetting to pull the hand brake on the van in the parking lot only to realize it later when we had « drifted » backwards into the center of it 😂 luckily it was empty.
Goblin valley felt like a different planet and yet it is here in Utah. The Earth, our tiny rock floating in space full of minds overthinking, never stops to surprise me.
These were all shot from sunset to night. The warmth of the evening light really goes well with those rocks.

Let me know your favorite below 👇 I have a hard time deciding honestly…. Let me explain what happened here:
This is something I really recommend doing when in NYC ! Ride the Long Island ferry several times in a row to play with different lights and stories.
It is a contained playground in which I can try so many different compositions and ways to tell stories. It also has incredible views on lower manhattan!

I’m sharing a lot of photos for once not just my top 3, I hope you will appreciate the insight into how I tried to document this space during this micro adventure!

Do you go on micro adventures with your camera? It can be just be for an hour trying something new! :-)

I created all these photos with a prime 35mm - some say it is a boring focal length and others swear by it - you’ll find me in the middle😶

There such beauty in witnessing life happening around us while holding a camera. I find that 35mm helps keep that “neither too tight nor too wide” space for everyday situations. What about you?
