This was a quick pit stop on the way home from the lake. For as popular as this church is in photos, the valley was surprisingly quiet and peaceful with few people around. I took a little hike up away from the road for the second shot, accompanied by some curious 🐄's that came to sniff me as I was shooting. Think they thought I was an 👽

Such a unique place. Part of the largest under water cave system in the world, the waters are a crystal clear turquoise and provide a haven for those trying to escape the sweltering heat of day. 💦

Sometimes you get the most unexpected surprises... 🤯. We were pretty bummed about the smoke from all the West Coast fires and I was hesitant to hike with the air quality, but our pursuit was rewarded with one of the most extraordinary experiences of the trip. Call us the bird whisperers 😂🐦
