Last night I had the pleasure to be invited to the Actor’s Studio for the Actor’s Studio Drama School’s Showcase for this year’s graduating class. The performances were excellent and everyone did a great job. I was very impressed.

I was so happy to have so many of my photos being used at this event and in particular the Showcase photo. For the showcase photo I shot each person individually. Each person came with some ideas and then we worked together to get the best out of them - pose and energy wise. Then the design team did a great job of putting it all together.

I am looking forward to photographing your Re Season starting the end of March!

Pittsburgh - It has been forever since I posted but I have a lot to share so hoping to more often. I have some business/paid and some personal work to post. I will start where I left off around May. I took a motorcycle trip for Memorial Day Weekend to Pittsburgh to meet up with friends. Who would have thought it but a great town and lots of fun (food, museums, parks, etc). I took very few photos but had to stop to take this one as I was riding out of town (hard in full gear with helmet on). Camera was a bit buried so took this rare for me phone photo.
A little color and exposure correction but No photoshop as is my usual.

One of my favorite corporate companies, (KPMG - Great company, great people) asked me to take a few portraits of their CFO to be used for a magazine cover and article. I knew David a little beforehand, he is such a nice guy and was a pleasure to work with. I scouted the location the week before, the day of I set up in six locations with a few variations at each. I got my planned shot and quickly moved David from one location to the next. I love how the magazine cover turned out. Bonus is that I ended up with a relationship with the magazine company too (CFO Studio) and now have shot two jobs for them. They are great to work with too and throw some very fun events!

End of May is here and so another Actors Studio Drama School class has gained their MFA. I am so happy for all of them. My hopes and best wishes to all of ASDS Class of 2019, cohort #20.
Of the 20 past classes, I have photographed all but the first year’s thesis shows. Starting in 2009, I started doing a class photo. Then around 2015 or so I stated doing a showcase photo. It is a pleasure to work with these creative and talented people. I have always enjoyed photographing them but in the last few years I have felt closer and closer to each class (thank you Social Media). I have felt so appreciated by cohort #20, thank you for having me part of your team. A big thank you to Shawn Lewis for your support over all these years and for having me back each year.

As to my photos, both were taken in one day. The first one is the class photo. The whole shot took about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. I set up the lights and then we added the class. Moved people around for balance of heights, outfits/colors and the general look. When I took the photo every one was there and in it. This photo is close to as how it came out of the camera (minus the graphics). A big thank you to Ken Urso who helps put it all together with me.

The showcase photo was sort of the opposite - I shot each person individually and then the design team put it all together. I shot about 10 to 15 photos of each person. Each person came with some ideas and then we worked together to get the best out of them - pose and energy wise.

ASDS class of 2019 were all very professional at the shoot and very talented in their shows. Look out world here they come! Hugs to all.

Sadly another Actors Studio Drama School Repertory Season has ended. Last week (7), last show (13). Where does the time go? I shot live/not posed photos. I have NOT seen the shows beforehand.
