Some wedding films tell a love story. Others become part of the story itself. ❤️
Two months before Chelsea and Thom’s wedding day, Chelsea’s dad passed away. His absence was deeply felt throughout their wedding day, and we knew how much he meant, and still means to Chelsea.
But what Chelsea didn’t know was that Thom had been planning something incredibly special for her.
During the wedding day, Thom secretly collaborated with me to incorporate never-before-seen video footage of him and Chelsea’s dad from the hospital. In one of the clips, Thom asks Chelsea’s dad for his blessing and permission to marry his daughter. In another, he shows him the engagement ring he was going to use to propose to Chelsea.
Thom trusted me with these incredibly personal moments and asked me to weave them into their wedding film without Chelsea knowing.
And then came the moment she finally saw them. 🥹
Watching Chelsea’s reaction for the first time was something I’ll never forget. Seeing her recognize her dad on the screen, hearing her emotions, and watching her heart fill with so much love and emotion. It was incredibly powerful.
It wasn’t just a surprise. It was a beautiful way of bringing a very important part of her dad back into a day that meant so much to her.

As the filmmaker, I feel incredibly honored, grateful, and proud to have been trusted with something this meaningful. Being able to preserve memories is already a privilege, but being given the opportunity to help create a moment like this is something I will always carry with me.
