I covered another great event for this afternoon to celebrate Women’s History Month with the “Honoring HerStory” event.

It was inspiring to hear the panelists speak on how they navigated & reshaped a world not built with them in mind. Yet succeeding in their industries despite the glass ceiling, sexism & the “ Boys Club“ culture.

The poem you hear in the beginning called “Roots” by Jaquelynn Beville was very fitting for this event.

Their stories hit home with me as a woman that has experienced some of these same systemic inequalities.

I covered an awesome Black history month event for last night to celebrate Greenburgh’s Black history, culture, & legacy.

It was great to walk the halls and see the many faces of the influential & trailblazing African Americans who called Greenburgh home. “Moms” Mabley, Gordon Parks, & Dr. Olivia J Ho**er just to name a few that are currently preserved in the Greenburgh Black History Museum.

I also got to witness the induction of Theodore D. Young into the museum.
The museum captures the contributions of Black people & communities within Greenburgh.

On another note, if you grew up in Greenburgh, NY and have stories to share, the Fairview Empowerment Group is seeking your stories, artifacts, photographs, & any historical information that highlights the rich Black heritage within this community.

Capturing the at bayside is always a must when I visit. I never tire of this scene. It changes every time, because you just never know what you will get. Even when the clouds block us from seeing the actual sunset, the colors are still vibrant and worth the walk.

I’m excited to announce that I am having my first solo exhibit as “Crichlow Fine Art” at the Greenburgh Town Hall starting at the end of June. It will be up for about two months. I am of course both ecstatic & nervous. I just have to keep remembering to stay motivated & disciplined & success will come eventually.
The reception is the 22d from 2-4p. If you like various kinds of artwork come and check out both artists. Hope to see you there. 😊
