easily one of the funnest jobs I’ve gotten to be a part of.

Be sure to catch it May 1st. There’s a fun surprise you don’t wanna miss

while training at The Gym/JLeagues in Flatbush, we decided to come up with a fun tactical scenario that combined what we had been working on that session.
Thanks to our team for making this fun & safe!

today I got to stunt rig on a commercial

this past Friday I was invited to a wire training workshop hosted by Frank Alfano at Argus Film Works in Brooklyn. It was the first time I’ve ever been hooked up & flung around in this manner, so it was a great time learning how to get wrapped up & do it safely.

We started off doing some judo throws on the mats as this would inform our throws on the line later, then we did a solo test to get a feel of the wire & how our bodies would move in the air, & finally we compiled it all together for the Big Bang.

It was definitely a collaborative effort to get the timing right between the person throwing, to the person on the wire, and those on the pulleys—but once it timed up it was super rad. Hope to do it again soon.

proud to finally present my stunt reel for 2025

many thanks to all the good folks who included me on their projects, to every incredible instructor & stunt professional at the workshops I’ve attended, & to my pals who joined me in my crazy schemes to piecemeal this all together

This year I’ve been making a more concerted effort to improving my stunt game, going to workshops to widen & hone my skill sets, & connect with other stunt professionals here in NYC.

This past Sunday I went to Coney Island with my pals, Justine & Taylor, to shoot a short stunt video. It was a challenging, yet fun experience to figure out camera movements for the choreography we put together, & then piecemeal it all together.

Soon we’ll be sharing the final product—for now, here’s a fun little blooper of me messing up a jump & then saving it in the last seconds.

there’s 3 departments responsible for the cinematography of a film, tv show, etc : camera, electricians (set lighting technicians) & grips. Grips support the two others—camera & lighting.

Often on bigger budget projects you’ll see telescoping camera cranes like pictured. They come in various sizes but effectively do the same thing—telescope in & out, swing left & right, arm up or down, & the whole thing can move if you put it on track (like a train). It’s an incredibly versatile piece of equipment & makes for very interesting shots.

Generally the person who physically operates the crane is what we call a dolly grip. They’re our dedicated camera support grip, so they work in conjunction with the camera operator to achieve the shot. I’m not a dolly grip, but sometimes I get to help 🙂

many movies & shows build stages specifically for car scenes. We call this the poor man’s process, though this set up is far from it.

However, it’s much easier to film & light in a controlled environment with blue or green screens & video walls to emulate the scenery the story takes place. It’s very tricky to film on the streets because it means we shut down roads, we’re limited on camera angles & lighting set ups, a lot can go wrong, & most importantly, it’s much dangerous than filming on a stage.

This set up is from a movie we did called The Instigators, featuring Matt Damon & Casey Affleck. On the forklift I’m operating is a rig that contains one of those video screens. What’s cool about it being on the forklift means it’s not fixed to one position & we were able to move it around since it’s on wheels.
