Four years ago, he was trying to become someone.

Now he’s introducing himself as someone who already is:

A Pilot.
A Leader.
A Builder.

Whatever comes next, the world is about to meet him differently after four years at Delaware State University. That changes the way a person carries themselves.

The way they enter rooms.
The way they’re remembered.
The way they’re seen before they even speak.

These weren’t meant to feel like graduation photos. They were meant to feel like arrival.

Pilot X, congratulations. We are extremely proud of you and we can't wait to see how you soar.

As a father, I understand why parents get emotional during senior year — whether it's high school or college.

One minute you are dropping your son or daughter off at school for the first time. The next, you are watching them walk across the stage, into adulthood and whatever comes next. It's been a big month of May for us (André & El).

We want to say happy birthday and congratulations to this incredible member of the Class of 2026. Our family captured a season with these portraits that we will never get back, but will now always be able to remember.

To the mothers in the thick of it.
To the mothers carrying invisible weight.
To the mothers loving fiercely through exhaustion, grief, joy, transition, healing and hope.

To the stepmothers, bonus moms, adoptive moms, foster moms, grandmothers, aunties, mentors and chosen mothers.
The women longing to become mothers.
The women navigating motherhood with complicated hearts.

There is no one way to mother.
There is no one version of what this day means.

But if no one has told you lately:
the way you love matters.
The way you show up matters.
You matter.

And even on the days that feel ordinary, overwhelming or unseen, the love you pour into others leaves a mark that lasts far beyond the moment. 🤍

Thankful for all the mothers in our lives. Happy Mother’s Day to all who carry motherhood in any form.

My mentor asked a simple question that got me thinking:

When was the last time you felt the same emotion and transformation of being photographed that you create for your 40+ female clients?

I didn’t have a quick answer.
Not because I’ve felt invisible…
but because I’ve been tired.

An exhausted dad.
An exhausted communicator.
An exhausted business owner.

Then, a few images from a recent portrait update shoot stopped me.

I felt like me again.

And it took me back to a song I used to sing as a kid:
“I’ve got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart…”
Haven’t thought about that in years.

But somehow, those images brought a piece of it back.
That’s what this work can do.

Not just change how we see ourselves, but reconnect us to something real within. SomeONE real within who may have been lost for a minute.
And yeah, even men feel that s**z. We just don’t always say it.

Quit hiding her.

She walked into the studio with quiet strength.

A dancer carries discipline in their bones. But what moved me most wasn’t just the technique. It was her trust.

We give our whole hearts to every portrait experience — the pre-shoot details, the design, the lighting, the music, the genuine smiles and laughs while capturing essence.
She walked in and gave us her heart.

There was a moment after her first graceful movement where everything softened. No performance. No audience. Just presence.

That’s when the magic happens.

This honored the years of practice, the blisters, the bravery, the becoming. The session felt sacred. And I don’t use that word lightly.

Magic only happens when both sides are willing to show up fully.

She did. And it shows.

Dance.
