OH YEAH TIP #53 - “looking” happy, comfortable, confident, fun , etc … that’s not a “look”, it’s a feeling, a state of mind. Don’t “look” it , “be” it 😎

When I was doing Jackie Lamoureaux and David engagement session, Jackie told “I love how everyone looks genuinely happy, natural and fun in your pictures” … and that made me think 🤔

So, summarizing my thought… if you’re in front of a camera, think less of how you “look”, and focus more on how you “feel”. Yes, having a camera 📷 point at you might feel intimidating, so let’s just have fun 🤩 allow yourself laugh at your own self, celebrate yourself 🥳, and share the happiness with your partner 🙏

On February 24 2024 I had the pleasure of photographing Nick Fodera and Kristin Buggy surprise proposal… what they didn’t know was that I had also captured it on video, and the first call Kristin made to her mom 😎😁

… I kept it a secret all the way till i revealed their final wedding video … and seeing their reaction was PRICELESS !!!

Ok ok ok … let’s talk about this … something I’m told OFTEN: “ Nelson … I don’t know how to pose “

I totally get it, most think of it as awkward, doesn’t sound be fun, or natural, etc … BUT … it doesn’t have to be that way I guarantee you!
One of the things I love about weddings is that I’m dealing with regular people, not models … “but Nelson, all your couples look like models, they look great, confident, relaxed, etc ” … well, that’s part of the Oh Yeah secret sauce 😎
My approach to “posing” is simple: I want to help you look your best, feel your best, while enjoying the process. It’s more about directing you to bring out the best in you, than to treat you like a manequim … believe me … I gotchu 😉

… with that said … can now put modeling on her resume 😁
