Some wedding portraits deserve a little more drama.

Traditional attire, intricate details, a vintage Mercedes, and a couple who made the entire scene completely their own. This is exactly why I love creating wedding portraits that feel like the people in them, not a copy of somebody else’s wedding day.

Approach with caution. Sudden changes in lighting may cause unpredictable behavior.

Behind the scenes, wedding photography involves a lot of directing, adjusting, crouching, climbing and occasionally looking completely ridiculous to get the shot.

It’s all part of the job.

Sometimes I walk into a wedding venue and immediately know I’m going to use something.

In this case, it was the stairs.

Nothing complicated. I saw the lines, put them where I wanted them, and built the photograph around them.

One of my favorite parts of wedding photography is finding the places you might walk past a hundred times and turning them into something worth stopping for.

Your venue doesn’t need a designated “photo spot.” Give me good light, an interesting corner, a staircase, a hallway, a wall… I’ll figure out the rest.
