I am a big fan of reflections and there are lots of windows so every day things look different. This was my first trip to the National Museum of African American History & Culture. You start the tour several stories underground where it is dark and you are introduced to history. Like many museums, you could stay in there for days reading and viewing and absorbing. There’s a pair of shackles in my pictures that really struck me. It was a heavy hearted tour but important to feel. I think I could spend a year here visiting the museums and never be bored. We’re on the road today attempting to get home before our Atlanta boy visits. 🥰

After spending Tuesday at Boston Logan, we were finally told our flight to DC was canceled. We began our drive at 6pm & arrived in DC at 1:30am. Matt made his 7am meeting. We were very fortunate to miss the rain & storms that caused the aviation chaos. I had a great time checking out the new-ish Wharf area of DC, strolling around our Nations Capital & eating biscuits 😋

The YMCA Master’s Nationals meet has wrapped up. We had so much fun cheering each other on, getting each other pumped for relays, enjoying each other’s company both in the pool area and mowing food afterwards. I couldn’t have dreamed of two 1st’s, a 2nd and a 4th in my individual races and I had wonderful friends and an amazing sister who shared my excitement. A little beach walk is in order before returning to reality.
