Mundaka. | Revisited some edits from my past winter and this place just sticks out so well. Couldn't make this up if you tried. Kinda feels like if Maine and RI had a love child with PCH. But more medieval and no hipsters. Everyone's a little salty and happy all the same. No one cares about rain but they sure appreciate the sun. Wave just feels like it's on a conveyor belt and someone's on the intercom saying okay send in 6 more. The best guys in the lineup were the OGs. Felt like Ruggles. They just knew the wave better than anyone. Just watching the kick outs from across the river you could feel the perfection of this day. I'm sure some guy on the wall said they've seen it better, I'll be back for then too.

Six years. Thank you all for everything. What was built here has been as organic as it comes. Every single one of my friends played a part in its growth whether they painted a wall, helped me pick out plants, worked a day I needed to be in the ocean, or just showed up when I needed it most. We have hosted music festivals, farm to table dinners, a million art shows, concerts, workshops, movie nights, and a thousand meaningful conversations. If you have been a part of any of this, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. The past six years will transcend time for me. Now, It is with a heavy heart and all the love in the world, I let you all know this will be the last summer for The Kings Lens And Friends. In one sense this was a very tough decision, one thought about for the past two years. In another, I am extremely excited to allow myself to grow and see what the rest of life offers. I have given as much as I can, to this space, this community, and my city. I’m excited to give back to myself and allow life to guide me into new ventures and opportunities. I do not see this as the end, but rather just the End Of My Beginning. To every artist that gave me the opportunity to showcase them, build with them, and trusted me and my vision, THANK YOU! I would be nothing without you. To the 7 Carroll Family, this place is a fu***ng zoo, thanks for letting me be apart of it. I look forward to watching you guys grow. To my friends that were there for the days of the pop ups, to the late nights on the couch, too many modelos to count, I fu***ng love you all. To my family, Mom, Pops, Jess, Thank you for allowing me to try something different and make a life of it. Your support means everything. To all those that purchased a piece of art and supported me and my friends, PLEASE KEEP SUPPORTING! These artists are the reason this town has life and culture. I will always do what I can to lift others up when and however I can. As for this last summer, please welcome The Farewell Tour. Let’s enjoy each other's company, spread art and love wherever we can, and have some amazing conversations on the couch. Thank you all for everything, Good Waves Only and Great Friends Always.

Some recent work for Flavio. Ever since Flavio has been coming to my shop he has been a warm addition to the community. Never fails to ask me if I need a coffee or pastry and always fills the room with his energy. Tonight is Flavios opening at and the show is an overwhelming showcase of his personality. Deep, colorful, full of life, culture and the madness of the world around us. Flavio is one of the good ones. Come by if you're around tonight, we'd love to have you.

A few more from last night. Saddened to hear rumors the building is a total loss. Hope The Wayfinder can rebuild from this. They gave a lot of opportunity to locals and artists including myself. Also shout out to all of my badass friends who were doing their thing last night. Inspiring to see them in action. This is a big loss for the town.

Thoughts go out to The Wayfinder. Tragic fire tonight at a place that was doing so much for the community. Amazing efforts by the first responders from across the state. No casualties and they are still working as I write this. Go get em, Brothers.

Reasoning | and figuring out what that is. I've lost a lot of my motivation for photography. My camera has collected dust since I've been back from traveling. A lot behind that. A lot of things in my life are shifting. I've put nearly a decade in to this craft. It's given me a lot. I've given it alot back. Maybe it's the oversaturation in the field, maybe that's why I've been drawn to black and white. I was chasing color for so long. I would shoot everyday. One year I barely missed a sunrise. The last swell I didn't even know where my camera was. I'm not mad at it. The camera found my hands when I really needed a shift in perspective. It's hard to continue looking down when you have a lens to look through. It's a lot easier to stay out of the dark when you're always chasing light. Tonight I felt like I should try to get that shift in perspective again. So I went out looking for light and found the fog instead. Felt like a good representation of my mind. Looking for something through the smoke and mirrors. Ended up finding Michael fishing at the end of the dock. He taught me all about how the clam boat worked and how he used to surf the Dunes club with the richest man in RI in the 70s. He went to the guys house for lunch and the butler asked what he wanted he said idk a ham sandwich? He got steak. He won a surf comp on Cape Hatteras and lived in a friend's yard in Oahu where he survived off avocado and mayo for 4 weeks. I f**k with that. He played music at some guys wedding in Block Island and said he dipped early to surf 20 ft black rock before dark. He talked a lot and I was all ears. I guess this is part of it. Seeing where the lens leads me. Who it leads me too. I'm greatful for all of it.
