Keith and Maraed’s surprise proposal on Ocean Drive in Newport, RI. I love the relaxed candids of Keith just moments after asking Maraed to marry him! There was music playing on a portable speaker, bubbly, and lots of love & laughter in a sun drenched Saturday.
I’ve started jokingly calling myself a “Newport proposal concierge” because for me, it’s more than just photographing the proposal….it’s about making a plan and providing a service.
For my out-of-state clients, I’ve become the person who helps with the Google Maps scouting, florist recommendations, restaurant suggestions, timing, locations, and all the little details that go into pulling off a surprise proposal from hundreds of miles away.
This spot along Ocean Drive is one of my favorites because it’s open to the public, so you don’t necessarily have to rent a private property or venue to have an incredible Newport proposal. You get the coastline, the classic Newport scenery, and a beautiful backdrop without having to book an entire place.
So if you’re a gentleman coming to Newport from out of state and have no idea where to propose, what flowers to order, or where to take her afterward, I guess that’s where the “concierge” part comes in.
I’ll help you figure it out, keep the surprise intact, and then photograph the whole thing.
