Mother Nature understood the assignment... eventually.

The day started with rain, so we kicked things off in my studio after hair and makeup. Then the clouds gave us a break, and we headed outside for a few urban senior portraits. Bonus points for showing off the college merch from the school she worked so hard to get into.

And then, because apparently the weather was feeling generous, the sun came out and we finished in the field with all the cute, fun, senior-year vibes.

Three locations. One photoshoot. Zero stress.

This is your reminder that if the weather doesn't cooperate, we simply roll with it. Sometimes those unexpected sessions turn out to be the best ones.

Everything is bigger in Texas... including the personality.

This senior dancer brought her Texas vibe with her, and I was here for it. The confidence, the energy, the style, and just the right amount of sass.

Of course we captured the dance photos. When you've spent years training, those images deserve a spot in the gallery. But we also made time for portraits that showed who she is when she's not dancing.

Because senior photos should feel like YOU, not just your activity list.

And this girl made my job easy.

Good music, great attitude, and a whole lot of Texas energy. What more could a photographer ask for?

Confession from a photographer:

Dancers make me look good.

You give them a little space, and suddenly they know exactly what to do with their hands, feet, posture, and facial expressions. It feels a little unfair to the rest of us.

This senior session was such a fun mix of dance portraits and classic senior photos. We celebrated years of hard work, but we also made sure to capture the girl behind the dancer.

The result? Gorgeous images, lots of laughs, and a gallery that feels completely like her.

And yes, I may have asked her to do "just one more pose" about twenty times.

The plan was simple.

Get a great headshot.

And we did.

But one of the perks of a custom session is that we're not racing the clock. Once we had the business portraits she needed, we switched gears and created a few images just for her.

No company website. No LinkedIn profile. No business reason whatsoever.

Just because.

A little confidence. A little fun. A little reminder that women in their 40s are allowed to step in front of the camera for themselves too.

The headshots were great.

The bonus portraits? Those were the icing on the cake.

Senior year is weird.

One minute you're worried about homework, practice, and what you're wearing on Friday.

The next minute everyone keeps asking what college you're going to and acting like you're suddenly a grown up.

Before life gets even crazier, let's document this version of you.

The girl who still steals fries from her friends' plates.

Because those are the photos you'll laugh about years from now.

Attention parents of athletes:

One day you'll blink and the last game will be over.

I know. Rude.

This session was everything I love about senior portraits. Action shots that show her strength, power poses that show her confidence, and plenty of moments that remind us she's so much more than her sport.

Senior year isn't just about graduation. It's about capturing who they are before life takes them in a hundred different directions.

And this girl absolutely crushed it.

Cap. Gown. Done.

Somehow senior year is already wrapping up.

We grabbed a few cap and gown images, wandered through the park, and created some portraits that feel exactly like this season of life. Excited. A little nostalgic. Ready for what's next.

No stiff poses. No awkward smiles. Just a senior celebrating a huge milestone.

Congratulations, Class of 2026. You did it.

You do NOT need to know how to pose.

In fact, most of my seniors start by telling me, "This is going to be awkward."

Five minutes later they're asking, "Wait, can we do that again?"

Whether you're an athlete, dancer, musician, theater kid, or still figuring it out, the goal is simple. Create photos that actually look like YOU.

Just with slightly better lighting.

And maybe a little extra confidence.

You come in for a headshot.

Next thing you know, we're playing with different outfits, different lighting, and creating portraits that have absolutely nothing to do with LinkedIn.

And honestly? Those are usually everyone's favorite.

Yes, we got the professional headshots she needed. Mission accomplished.

But because this was a custom session, we had time to have a little fun too. A few beauty portraits. A few "wait, that's me?" moments. A few images that celebrate this season of life instead of just updating a profile picture.

Because sometimes women in their 30s deserve more than a headshot.

Sometimes they deserve a photoshoot.

You spent HOW many years driving to practices?

Early mornings. Late nights. Weekend tournaments. Countless miles. More snacks in the car than you care to admit.

And somehow, senior year is already here.

This amazing athlete brought both sides of herself to the session. The fierce competitor who earned every skill and every achievement, and the confident young woman ready for whatever comes next.

The action shots are fun. The power poses are gorgeous. But what I love most is that these images capture this exact season of life before everything changes.

Because one day the uniform gets packed away, but these memories deserve a little more permanence.

If your senior has poured their heart into a sport, let's make sure it's part of their story.
