One of my favorite engagement sessions from this winter, where I spent the afternoon in Asbury Park with Samantha & Matt.🤍

We kicked things off - one of their favorite spots -with espresso martinis that honestly deserved their own photoshoot. From there, we wandered to the carousel, hit the beach, and I got to meet Arnold, their very energetic and lovable pup!

I’m sooooo excited to photograph their wedding day!

When I first started pursuing photography, I tried to follow all the rules: straight horizons, clean compositions, everything looking “perfect.”

But the more weddings I photograph, the more I realize real moments aren’t always perfect.

Lately I’ve been leaning into motion blur, playing with shadows, and unconventional crops. I’ve been loosening my grip and relying more on observation than control. The images feel a little messier, a little freer, and a lot more honest.

Authentic and lived in feels so much more interesting to me now than “picture perfect.”

Abhinav chose to propose to Shilpa in their Jersey City apartment, creating an intimate moment with the NYC skyline glowing just outside the window.

While they were out at dinner, family transformed the space into something unforgettable. Photos from their relationship were displayed throughout the apartment, flickering candles lined the hallways, and rose petals lead all the way to the bedroom, where Abhinav proposed in front of the city lights.
