Pequot Lakes Senior 🥹

My niece. The little angel girl.
What a feeling. Photographing the girl, who’s all grown up and let me take snaps of her when she was a little. Yep. We cranked up the song as only a crazy aunt would and we danced. Well she did. But I felt like I was too. My brother, her dad - was, in typical fashion - as he always has been - a little bit embarrassed, but thankful nonetheless. Maybe it was the full experience or maybe he’s thankful I tried to make it an experience for her. That we all love her so so much and we are proud of her. Get it girl.

Candid Family Photos. Pierz, Mn 2026. One of my favorite sessions of the season.
I was invited to be a part of a book club. We are reading Little Women. There’s irony in that. The book club part. More on that maybe.

These photographs remind me of that. Where the grass was greener. I mean it was spring time literally where the grass is the greenest, but looking back always seems to give a nostaglia that things were better back then, or that the grass was greener.

That’s the magic of photographs - they seem to bring a sense of peace of all that was and all that has happened.

Sometimes I find sadness in it too - like did I really realize how great it was. Then I stop. I remind myself that today’s today is tomorrow’s yesterday.

Live in gratitude.

And take the dang photographs.

Hi. As a mama for 4 years now these photos hit different. Stepping into the dress. Stepping into a whole new chapter. All the little things matter now.

I see my past. I see my present. And i dont want to look too far ahead as i dont want to wish time away — our most valuable asset - but I hope this is my future too. Helping my girl.

These photos will matter more in 10 years then they do today.

Kinda cool right?!

An absolutely amazing and fun family I photographed last summer at Quarterdeck Resort. The entire family was so great and just there to have a good time. Mama was the star of the show when she pulled out popsicles for the kids towards the end of the session - making for the best photo opt! 🌊🌲☀️🩱
And….Ella Langley’s Loving Life Again…because Memorial Day is just daysssss away 😍😍😍 which means summer in MN!! 🏆 - we made it!!!!

Can I say I had a favorite wedding last year? I did and it was this one. 🤍 There are so many amazing ones and someday I’ll post them all with the intention they deserve.
Cloe - the most beautiful bride - effortless, cool and kind. Her and Jake put on the kind of wedding dreams are made of. A story to be continued.
Oh - and I loved all my weddings - maybe even all my shoots - but sometimes things are just pure magic and that was this day.

My favorite and the only pure yoga studio in The Brainerd Lakes Area 🧘‍♀️ This post is long over due - as I have worked with them many times, yet I rarely seem to show my work on here these days.
I love photographing for notice and am so glad we have such an amazing yoga community in this sweet little town of ours. Thank you for all that you do! I’m so excited for your next event - it’s one of my favorite events of the year! People - if you have signed up - do it! I’ll be there taking some snaps 🏁🥰

More thoughts and randoms -

Although I don’t call myself a yogi, as my practice is always sporadic and not much of a practice at all. But for some reason, for the past 15 years I have found myself always being called back to the studio as I have found it to be a safe haven to heal, feel and a sort of personal revival - especially after/during pregnancy, postpartum and now motherhood.

Between the woods and the water, the most intimate of weddings. The backdrop, the lake. The decor - a handmade arch, made from seaweed that grew into a plant over time.

Much like love can and will with care.

The lake was calm that day, the clouds moody. Emotions ran deep as they said their vows. Sturdy and steady like the pines.

Vows were exchanged. Dances were had and cake was eaten.

The rain sprinkled and everyone ran into the garage for cake cutting and continued celebrations.

A forever story.
