.williams.140193 and I set out on an early morning hike to look for the Great Horned Owls he saw on a previous trip. Shortly after we turned around to head back to the car (and shortly after I started to give up hope) we saw the silhouette of the “horns” from this owl. Spent the last week visiting family in Wyoming. Most mornings .williams.140193 and I would get up early to be on the trail by sunrise. This particular morning we spent more time in the car while storms rolled through. We ventured through Miners Delight and Atlantic City before hitting the trail in South Pass City. I had high hopes of capturing an antelope on top of one of the ridges and was thrilled to get this shot.

If you ever get to visit, I highly recommend checking out the bison center which provides tons of information on these amazing creatures and the yearly roundup to manage the herd of about 1400 bison!

Happy Valentines Day!!!

Dave and I were in Florida for a long weekend with hopes of seeing manatees. After a few hours kayaking along the Weeki Wachee river, we made our way back to our Airbnb when we noticed a pod of manatees away from all the people. Such a treat to see these two nuzzle noses alongside my kayak before going on their way.

It was so tough to get a shot of this guy. I was taking photos of some of the younger monkeys that were further into trees when I realized he was almost directly above my head - much closer than I like to be to any wildlife. But I was in a kayak having a hard time navigating against the current and keeping my camera from falling into the water. Would have loved to get a clearer shot of his face, but I just love the expression in his eyes.
