Jo’s Photos is officially relocating to Florida🤍

I can’t lie to you guys…. I have tried for weeks to make a video but everytime I do… I cry. So through the tears, I need all you to know what you mean to me.

I started this whole journey when I was just 14. I got my first camera and the rest was history, and from then on, I have built my Jo’s Photos family brick by brick. I remember every shoot, every laugh, every cry, every single human being (and sometimes four legged friends) that trusted me to capture their weddings, businesses, families, love, THE LIST GOES ON. I can’t thank this community enough for everything it has given me. Not only clients that feel like family, but some of the closest friends I could’ve ever been blessed with (you know who you are✨) I hope and hope you never forget the memories we’ve shared and always remember to take that picture.

My heart ACHES at the idea of leaving the community I built, but I assure you from the bottom of my heart.. the Hampton roads is my home…

AND THIS IS NOT GOODBYE, ITS SIMPLY SEE YOU LATER🤍

now im gonna crawl back in my hole some more and continue to sob. I love you all. My little family I’ve created, you will always be in my hearts, but it’s time for a new adventure with my new little family🤍

Photographing Amy & Eric’s elopement, and being one of the only witnesses to their vows, was one of those moments. When two writers fall in love, the words hit deeper, linger longer, and leave you changed. I’ll always be grateful I got to stand in this space with you two.

picture it. it’s 2016.
you spent your whole savings on your first real professional camera.
you’ve shot a couple weddings. you beg your friends to model for you constantly. a few families started to really trust you.
you’re still figuring out how to edit.
your work has zero consistency.

but somehow… you’ve never felt more alive creatively.

you didn’t know it yet, but you were building the foundation for everything that exists now.
you were learning what it meant to tell stories, not just take photos.

and wow… you really kept going. 🤍

cue all the tears.

This year has been HARD. But making this reminded me.. hey there were some pretty beautiful parts too. And that’s because of each and everyone of you who have supported me from day one, day 50, day 575. Whatever day you stepped in to start supporting my little photo business.. you mean something to me and this family we’ve created.

Thank you all for continuing to trust me with your families, big or small (and sometimes really small🥹). I pray for a beautiful 2026 to each and everyone of you. May it bring you peace, happiness, wealth, success, and lots and lots of love because trust me, we all need it.

Some really fun news I’ve been keeping to myself for a bit… I started photographing for . 🐠

It’s been such a cool experience getting to blend two of my favorite things: animals and photography.

We just did pumpkin enrichments for some of the animals, and honestly… I’m still smiling about it. 🎃

Don’t worry, my calendar’s still open for all my couples, brands, and confidence sessions! This is just something special I couldn’t wait to share with my people. 🖤

This shoot was more than just a series of images. It was a celebration of her. A moment in time where she got to show up fully for herself, to embrace her beauty, and to walk away with tangible proof of her confidence and strength.
