Part 1:
Some days I look at my work and think—maybe I just got lucky.
Maybe I’m not really a photographer.
Not in the way they are.
But I’ve learned that voice doesn’t go away.
It just gets quieter the more you create anyway.
Imposter syndrome isn’t a sign you’re lost—
it’s proof you give a damn.

Part 2:
There was a stretch where all I wanted was recognition.
To have my name brought up when they talk about those photographers.
To be reposted. Celebrated. Known.
But chasing that kind of love will make you start creating for the wrong eyes.
It’ll have you performing instead of expressing.
I had to step back and ask—
do I want followers, or do I want to feel proud when no one’s watching?

When it’s quiet…
when I’m not overthinking the likes, the reach, the next thing—
that’s when I remember why I even picked up a camera.
It was never about being seen.
It was about seeing.
Framing a moment and feeling something shift in me.
That’s the part I never want to lose.
That’s the part I create for.

People ask how I know when to hit the shutter.
Most of the time, I don’t.
But every once in a while, the noise drops out.
The light hits clean.
And whoever I’m shooting forgets they’re being watched.
That’s when it happens.
Not posed.
Not planned.
Just a real moment that didn’t ask for attention—
but held it anyway.

Had a rare Saturday off, so I had to put my creative brain to work. Took my budget-friendly Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 MF out for a spin with my incredible muse, Gabby

Natural light? Not my usual go-to.
Manual focus? Let’s just say it’s an art and a workout.
—why not double down experimenting outside your comfort zone?

That’s the fun of it. Creativity isn’t about staying in the safe zone—it’s about learning, adjusting, and surprising yourself in the process. Shooting manual focus proved extremely difficult but when you nail the shot it’s totally worth it.
